Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee our office furniture warehouse operations in Fairfield NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, logistics, and supply chain processes. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive process improvements, manage inventory effectively, and ensure efficient shipping and receiving operations. The Warehouse Manager will lead a team of warehouse workers to achieve operational excellence while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- This job requires both leadership and a willingness to work alongside warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations, safe handeling and timely delivery.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs within the warehouse environment.
- Utilize transportation management systems to optimize logistics and transportation planning.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean methodologies to streamline operations.
- Supervise warehouse staff, providing training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
- Coordinate with supply chain management to ensure demand planning aligns with inventory levels.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and best practices in materials handling and storage.
- Monitor inventory control processes to minimize discrepancies and optimize stock levels.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and manage relationships with vendors for procurement needs.
- Ensure effective fleet management for transportation of goods within the supply chain.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar supervisory role within warehouse distribution or logistics environments.
- Prior furniture industry experience, knowledge of furniture installation, handling and storage. Prior office Furniture experience a plus.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse management.
- Familiarity with freight operations, shipping & receiving processes, and materials management practices.
- Experience in demand planning, production planning, and supply chain analytics is highly desirable.
- Proficient in budgeting, profit & loss analysis, and continuous improvement strategies within warehouse settings.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams towards achieving operational goals.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on process improvement and efficiency optimization.
- Knowledge of forklift operations is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
