Brief Description
Partners with Environmental Compliance Director to provide strategic leadership and organization wide oversight of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs across multiple locations. Drives continuous improvement and ensures regulatory compliance in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, hazardous waste management, emergency response, workers compensation, and business continuity. Partners with cross-functional leaders to embed a strong safety culture, mitigate risk, and align EHS initiatives with organizational objectives.

Drug Testing Policy

What You'll Be Doing
- Advises Environmental Compliance Director and executive leadership on EHS compliance, risk mitigation, and organizational safety strategy.
- Leads the development, and execution of enterprise-wide EHS programs, policies, and performance metrics.
- Establishes short- and long-term EHS goals aligned with organizational objectives, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Designs and delivers department-specific EHS training programs for executives, managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Drives a proactive, safety-first culture across all locations, increasing leadership accountability and employee engagement in safety initiatives.
- Leads organizational change initiatives to improve safety performance, employee engagement, and compliance awareness.
- Oversees the review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments across all department
- Conducts and directs hazard analyses of field operations, facilities, and equipment to identify systemic risks and implement corrective actions.
- Leads high-level incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective action planning.
- Identifies and mitigates operational and environmental risks to reduce organizational liability and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations, including Cal/OSHA, SCAQMD, DTSC, EPA, and water quality permitting requirements
- Develops new EHS programs in response to regulatory changes, new permits, or emerging environmental standards.
- Oversees hazardous, universal, and designated waste management programs, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal
- Manages SCAQMD reporting, emissions compliance, and environmental monitoring activities
- Leads the development and implementation of emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity plans, including employee training and preparedness drills.
- Partners with Human Resources on all Workers Compensation matters, such as reporting requirements, claims reporting, coordination of the Incident Review Team, occupational clinic access and communication.
- Attend Workers Compensation quarterly file reviews. Selects, manages, and evaluates external consultants, contractors, and service providers for outsourced EHS-related projects
- Prepares executive level reports, dashboards, and presentations on EHS performance and strategic initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with others.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver training to diverse audiences.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong Cal-Osha experience within an organization is required.
- Demonstrated experience interacting with regulatory agencies and outside contractors/vendors.
- Familiarity with SCAQMD rules, waste management regulations, and water quality permits.
- Ability to communicate professionally with internal clients.
- Ability to nurture positive working relationships with internal clients.
- Ability to communicate and nurture relationships with vendors.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Environmental, Health, and Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety management position within the private sector as well as managing direct reports
- Valid California Driver's License with state required levels of active auto insurance.

- REHS (Registered Environmental Health Specialist)
- CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist (we use outside consultants for CIH required work)
- CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager)
- CPP (Certified Permitting Professional with SCAQMD)
- QSP (Qualified SWPPP Practitioner with Construction Storm water)
- QSD (Qualified SWPPP Developer with Construction Storm water)
- QEP (Qualified Environmental Professional)
