Our Landscape Grounds Worker is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks associated with the care of cemetery grounds and facilities. This position will work under direct supervision, individually, or with a team. Duties include grounds maintenance functions such as working with hand tools and equipment operation.

Drug Testing Policy
Prior to beginning employment, all job applicants who receive a job offer will be required to voluntarily submit to a drug screening test conducted by a laboratory designated by Forest Lawn. The drug screening method is a hair collection test that will detect the use of illegal drugs within the past 90 days. A positive drug test may result in the withdrawal of the job offer.

With E-Verify we are able to confirm the employment authorization of all newly hired employees through an electronic database maintained by the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security. This position will work under direct supervision, individually, or with a team. Duties include grounds maintenance functions such as working with hand tools and equipment operation.
What You'll Be Doing
- General grounds clean-up and trash disposal.
- Clean and maintain storm drains.
- Repair lawn damage.
- Mow section and garden lawns.
- Trim memorial tablets.
- Replant landscapes.
- Apply landscape chemicals such as fertilizers, wetting agents, herbicides.
- Assist client families and other guests with grounds maintenance requests.
- Operate specialized equipment to move materials.
- Assist in completing interments.
- Assist in set-up and clean-up before and after special events.
- Install tents for funeral services.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a maintenance position.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Must have a caring and professional demeanor and enjoy helping families at a difficult time.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma/GED certification.
- Must be able to work on-site.
