Dishwasher

Reports to:  Pastry Chef/Sous Chef

Job Summary: 

The Dishwasher plays a vital role in the kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Dishwashing & Cleaning:

• Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently and thoroughly.
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment and ensure proper cleaning procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing station.
• Monitor and replace dishwashing detergents and chemicals as needed.

Kitchen Support & Sanitation:

• Assist kitchen staff by cleaning food prep areas and equipment.
• Ensure that floors, walls, and kitchen surfaces are clean and free of hazards.
• Empty trash and recycling bins, following proper disposal procedures.
• Follow safety and sanitation standards to comply with health regulations.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility successfully. This person must present a neat appearance and have a warm, cheerful personality.  Tact and good judgment are especially beneficial characteristics.  This person must also possess the knowledge, skill, and ability to carry out the job responsibilities. 

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Demands:

• Standing for long periods in a fast-paced environment.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs (trays, dish racks, kitchen equipment).
• Exposure to hot water, cleaning chemicals, and humid kitchen conditions.
