Job Overview:
Provides excellence in customer service to Forest Highlands Golf Club Members and Guests. The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining/drinking at the resort. Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, bartenders are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed (including but not limited to member recognition, menu knowledge and service mechanics). Bartenders are expected to have some basic cooking knowledge. This position provides food and beverage service to all patrons and other related duties.
Essential Functions:
Customer Service:
Assist members with menu information. Provide prompt, polite and professional service to the membership (customer). Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the appropriate uniform at all times. Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe environment.
· Greet all members and guests warmly with an appropriate greeting.
· Understands and communicates all services available at the club.
· Communicates with guests with enthusiasm and make them feel appreciated through displayed actions.
Bar/Restaurant Operations:
· Welcome guests personally within 3-45 seconds of their arrival.
· Work in collaboration with other bar staff to keep the bar area cleaned; and stick to FHGC standards at all times.
· Responsible for mixing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes and procedures.
· Arrange glasses and bottles to maintain an attractive display in agreement with bar standards.
· Sterilize and wash stemware when necessary
· Reach out to guests and offer assistance to them before they request it.
· Count drinks served to guests.
· Anticipate guest’s needs and follow the “half-full” rule when offering another drink.
· Be at full alert to guest signals, such as when they are raising their hands or looking directly at you, for orders.
· Endeavor to know and utilize guests’ names, know their occupation and favorite drinks.
· Know when to stop serving alcohol to members and ensure that they get home safely.
Other:
· Assist Supervisors and Managers with projects as needed. Assist with monthly beverage inventory.
· Attend Department meetings.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be 19 years old to pour alcoholic beverages
Two years of High School or High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Previous bartending and restaurant experience required
Clean back ground check
Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
Must be self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
Organized, able to work in a busy environment where the priorities are changing.
Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks during busy times while working flexible hours with an enthusiastic personality.
Must be reliable.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, vendors/suppliers, the general public and other employees of the Company.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Position is in a busy golf/country club in a private residential community.
Flexibility in schedule.
Ability to lift up to 25lbs regularly; up to 50lbs occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull.
Must be able to frequently walk, sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop kneel, crouch, adjust vision accordingly (close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception)
Exposed to outside weather conditions including low temperatures.
Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and a quiet work environment.
Continuous ability to talk and hear.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
