What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Tennis Professional Summer 2026 position at Forest Highlands Association?
Forest Highlands Golf Club is a private membership club located in Flagstaff, Arizona. We have four hard courts, eight pickleball courts, and two championship golf courses with full-service clubhouses at each facility.
We are seeking an energetic and motivated professional to work directly with the Racquet Team. This is a summer position that will run from Memorial Weekend until – Labor Day weekend. We are seeking a candidate that has played Collegiate level tennis or is a current Collegiate player with a NTRP 4.5 skill level or above. Pickleball experience is preferable and will be profitable for the right candidate.
The adult program consists of men and women clinics, junior clinics, tennis camps, social, and competitive programs that our professional will teach or assist. Our junior program utilizes the USTA’s 10 and under programs starting with the red ball through competitive green ball players.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Teaching private and group lessons
- Assisting and co-directing a very active junior program
- Assisting with adult and junior tennis camps
- Aid with and promotion and communication of all instructional, social and competitive programs
- Assist with social and competitive events
- Assist the tennis director with off-court duties
- Teach private, group and junior tennis and pickleball lessons
Expected work schedule is 30-35 hours per week. Compensation is hourly while in the pro shop which will account for between 10-15 hours of the work week. Assisting with clinics and camps is paid $25-$50 an hour. Commission is 70% on private lessons and clinics generated in the position. Lunch is provided daily, golf privileges at two Championship Golf Courses, pro shop discount, and affordable employee housing option.
Additional Duties:
- Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.

- Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same.

- Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team’s success.
Required:
- High diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year teaching or assisting experience.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet position deadlines.
- Weekends and/or holidays as required.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with people of all ages and abilities, demonstrating strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Salary : $25 - $50
