Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated Junior Shop Technician to support daily production operations in our sheet-metal fabrication shop. This entry-level position is ideal for someone eager to learn manufacturing processes and grow into machine operation roles. The technician will primarily be responsible for cleaning, inspecting, staging, and organizing parts as they come off production equipment while receiving hands-on training across multiple fabrication areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, deburr, and visually inspect parts coming off laser cutters, turret punches, and press brakes
- Stage, label, and organize parts for downstream operations such as forming, welding, or shipping
- Safely handle raw material and finished parts using carts, pallets, and basic lifting equipment
- Assist machine operators with setup support, material loading, and basic production tasks
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with shop safety and quality standards
- Learn proper handling of prints, work orders, part identification, and shop documentation
- Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and machine safety protocols
Training & Development Opportunities
This role provides structured, hands-on training in:
- CNC laser cutting operations
- Turret punch press operations
- Hydraulic press brake forming
- Shop workflow, material flow, and production sequencing
- Quality control basics and part inspection techniques
Qualifications & Skills
- Basic knowledge of hand tools (wrenches, grinders, measuring tools, etc.)

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move parts and materials (up to 50 lbs with assistance when needed)
