- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Contact vendors and subcontractors for pricing and bids
- Prepare and submit bid proposals, including labor, materials, and time requirements.
- Assist in calculating labor, materials, and equipment costs
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate scope and pricing.
- Conduct site visits to gather data and assess project conditions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, labor rates, and material costs.
- Track and document all estimation activities and maintain historical cost data.
- Identify potential cost risks and provide value engineering options.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
- High School Diploma or GED required, Certification from respected electrical program. Bachelor’s or associate degree in construction management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Problem assessment and problem solving.
- Information gathering and information monitoring.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication
- Customer service oriented.
- High level of computer skills including, but not limited to estimating software
- Strong math and analytical skills
