What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Security Guard position at Forest County Potawatomi Community?
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Provide security patrol of facilities and tribal lands and assigned areas to prevent theft, vandalism, burglaries, and other illegal criminal activity; prepare and submit reports as required, including patrol log
- Perform opening and closing procedures of building(s)
- Monitor weapons detector device(s) as assigned
- Collaborate with the Police Department and immediately report any illegal or irregular criminal activities; provide information and directions, assist with emergency management on evacuations
- Respond to alarms and requests for help
- Patrol lands and lakes to ensure compliance to laws and regulations; check paperwork for individuals to ensure paperwork is accurate and complete
- Prepare Criminal Complaints, Affidavits, and other court documents as required
What you’ll need to be successful:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certified (within the first 3 months of employment – FCP will provide)
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, regulations and requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels
- Ability to follow instructions in verbal and written format
- Ability to demonstrate moral character, honesty, tact, fairness, lack of prejudice and desire to help when dealing with people
- Ability to work extended hours and various work schedules
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
Preferred qualifications:
- Six (6) months of work experience in a security, law enforcement or related work environment
- Knowledge of traditional form of government, customs and traditions
- Must have a valid, clean driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age
