Forest Automotive seeks a B or C level technican to join our team. The ideal candidate has some experience, but would love to grow their skills, and is interested in an alternative work culture (compared to the normal repair shop or dealership).
Forest Automotive is an independent repair shop on the west side of Buffalo, near the Elmwood Village. We've been taking care of our chunk of the city for close to 15 years now. We are always busy, and our reputation is strong.
Our customers are diverse and liberal, for the most part. The owner and the techs are left leaning as well. Everyone who works here has an interesting story, and an active mind. One guy, for example, has a black belt in jiujitsu, a physics degree, and practices Buddhist mediation. Another guy has a PhD in music, and is starting a band. A third guy was in black metal bands for years, but now he performs a variety of different music styles, and curates shows for other artists throughout the city.
Our shop culture reflects our experience and our interests. We are kind and helpful. Sometimes we talk about books. No one here is sports fan, or drives a truck. Most of us are health conscious. Often someone is eating an apple for a snack, or a salad for lunch. We try to use the correct pronouns for our customers. Most of us have bicycles, and two of us own electric cars. No one here watches the news, and we all feel that screen time is a problem. You get the drift - we're crunchy and intellectual. None of this affects how we define professional conduct by a skilled technician, but people only thrive when they're in the right culture, and our aim is to thrive.
