Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC router machines to cut plastic materials per job specifications
- Load, position, and secure plastic sheets or components on the machine
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and CAD drawings
- Adjust machine settings (speed, feed rate, tooling) based on material type and thickness
- Select appropriate cutting tools for plastics to prevent melting, chipping, or warping
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed for quality and accuracy
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools to ensure they meet specifications
- Perform trimming, deburring, and finishing of plastic components
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and cleaning
- Troubleshoot minor issues and report major concerns to the supervisor
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating CNC routers or similar machinery preferred
- Familiarity with plastic materials (acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, etc.) is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming (G-code)
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar)
- Understanding of cutting speeds/feeds specific to plastics
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
