Position Overview

We are seeking highly professional, dependable, and observant Experience Security Officers to provide inmate watch services within hospital settings across select locations in Louisiana. This is a critical security position responsible for maintaining custody oversight of incarcerated individuals receiving medical treatment while ensuring compliance with correctional regulations, facility policies, and security protocols.

Security Officers assigned to inmate watch details play a vital role in preventing unauthorized contact, contraband introduction, escape attempts, and other security violations. Officers must maintain constant vigilance and remain with the inmate at all times throughout their assigned shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation and supervision of assigned inmate patients while hospitalized.
• Ensure inmates remain compliant with applicable state correctional laws, regulations, and facility rules.
• Prevent unauthorized contact between inmates and outside individuals.
• Monitor and prevent the introduction of contraband, prohibited items, or unauthorized materials.
• Observe and report suspicious behavior, security concerns, or policy violations immediately.
• Prevent escape attempts and maintain a secure environment at all times.
• Monitor all visitors and ensure only authorized personnel have access when permitted by correctional authorities.
• Maintain detailed and accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation.
• Coordinate professionally with hospital staff, correctional personnel, law enforcement, and supervisors.
• Remain at the assigned post continuously until properly relieved by the next scheduled officer.
• Follow all company, hospital, and correctional facility policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous security, corrections, detention, law enforcement, military, or inmate supervision experience preferred.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and reliability.
• Excellent situational awareness and observation skills.
• Ability to remain alert and focused during extended assignments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as needed.
• Must pass all required background screening and employment requirements.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid Louisiana Security Guard License.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a security guard.
• Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations effectively and calmly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible availability, including nights and weekends.
• Familiarity with first aid procedures
• Understanding of basic law enforcement procedures
• Certification in security-related courses is a plus
• Ability to handle conflicts with professionalism
• Experience in loss prevention strategies

Equipment Requirements

Officers assigned to inmate watch details must:

• Possess and maintain their own department-approved handcuffs and handcuff keys, when authorized by company policy and applicable regulations.
• Arrive prepared with all necessary personal items required for an extended shift.
• Maintain all assigned equipment in proper working condition.
• Present a professional appearance and wear the required uniform at all times.

Working Conditions

This position is performed within hospitals and medical facilities where inmates are receiving treatment. Officers may be required to sit or stand for extended periods while maintaining constant observation of the inmate. Officers must remain at their assigned post and cannot leave until properly relieved by another officer.
