For Women By Women, Period is a nonprofit organization fighting period poverty and changing the stigma that surrounds menstruation through proper education. We are a young team of diverse women that work closely together to grow the organization and expand our impact.Our mission is to provide access to menstrual products for those affected by period poverty through distribution, education and advocacy for menstrual equity.
We are looking for someone that can commit to doing 1-3 hrs (minimum) of work weekly for events and attend our storage unit organization days and distributions.
This is an unpaid volunteer position; team members will learn valuable skills and experience in non-profit work.
Job Description
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all external-facing events, including fundraising galas, donor appreciation events, awareness campaigns, volunteer drives, and community outreach initiatives.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote events through email, social media, local media, and partnerships.
- Collaborate with fundraising, communications, and program teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and messaging.
- Assist with managing event logistics including venue selection, vendor coordination, permits, volunteer management, registration platforms, and day-of-event execution.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners before, during, and after events.
- Track and report on event outcomes, including attendance, funds raised, media reach, and participant feedback.
- Maintain detailed budgets and timelines for all events, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.
- Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree (or hands on experience) in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in event planning and marketing, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Excellent communication, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of donor stewardship and community engagement.
- Hands-on experience with email marketing and social media tools.
- Preferred Skills: Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles and donor relations.
- Passion for the mission and values of the organization.
