What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Care Attendant position at Foothill Farms Veterinary Hospital?
Foothill Farms Veterinary Hospital is seeking an outgoing Animal Care Attendant to join our team! This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone interested in veterinary medicine who wants to gain hands-on experience while building client service skills.
This is a hybrid role, with approximately 50% animal care and 50% client service, including managing phones and supporting the front desk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for patients, including feeding, walking, and monitoring health and behavior
- Assist the medical team with gentle handling and restraint as needed
- Administer medications and document observations accurately
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including laundry and maintaining clean, organized spaces
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and assist with client inquiries
- Support front desk operations and ensure a positive client experience
- Help with stocking supplies, unpacking deliveries, and maintaining hospital flow
Schedule:
This is a flexible part-time position scheduled from 12pm to 7pm at least three days per week including Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. There may be additional hours available for those who are interested in cross training in other departments.

Minimum qualifications:
- Previous animal care experience is preferred
- Interest in a career in veterinary medicine including ongoing training
- Familiarity with Cornerstone software and Fear Free Certification is a plus!
