Job Title: Site Safety Specialist
Location: Florence, TX
Duration: 3-4 months minimum, potential for extension
Rate: $47-55/hour - 1.5X OT
Per Diem: Yes
Schedule: 5-10s to start, as project progressives will move to 6-10s
Project: Training Facility
We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Representative to support a large-scale, approximately $1B construction project in Central Texas. This individual will work closely with project leadership and field personnel to help maintain a strong safety culture across a busy, multi-trade construction site.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day safety oversight across active construction areas
- Monitor work activities involving multiple trades, including electrical, piping, ironwork, painting, drywall, and other general construction scopes
- Perform site walks, safety observations, audits, and inspections
- Identify unsafe conditions and work with field supervision to implement corrective actions
- Ensure contractors and craft personnel follow project safety requirements and applicable OSHA standards
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, incident investigations, and job hazard reviews
- Maintain required safety documentation and reporting
- Build strong working relationships with contractors, supervisors, and project management
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of construction safety experience; 7 years preferred
- Strong general construction background with experience supporting multiple trades
- Experience on large commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or similarly complex construction projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements
- CHST and/or OSHA 500 certification is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with field personnel at all levels
- Comfortable working full-time in an active construction environment
