Job Title: Safety Specialist

Location: Asheville, NC

Duration: 9 months

Start Date: June 2026

Rate: $47-$53/hour 1.5X OT

Hours: 40-50 hours per week

Seeking experienced Safety Specialist to provide safety support for utility scale solar projects.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and supervise the construction of assigned portfolio from design through commissioning, focusing on schedule, quality, and scope of work requirements.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to assigned site management personnel.
• Coordinate with and direct subcontractor field personnel.
• Ensure client, utility, and AHJ standards are maintained throughout construction.
• Assist construction team as needed with remediation and resolution of identified non-conformances.
• Assist with material receipt, handling, and inventory duties.
• Assist QAQC department in performing Inspections on an as-needed basis.
• Intimate knowledge of the solar installation and civil construction processes.
• Coordinate in advance with the QC/Commissioning teams to schedule inspections and commissioning activities.
• Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to subcontractor and field staff.
• Liaison with client field representatives, inspectors, and other jurisdictional authorities.
• Participate in meetings and provide input during the design and engineering phase.
• Assist with project mobilization and demobilization activities.
• Handle special assignments and other duties as leadership requests.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 years of experience
• Safety certs (CHST, ASP, CSP, preferred)
• OSHA 500, 510 (preferred)
• First Aid/CPR/AED/BBP training (current)
