FoodScience is seeking a Category Manager / Data Analytics Lead to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive category growth, retail performance, and long-term brand strategy. This is a high-impact analytics role that directly influences commercial decision-making across ecommerce, retail, and omni-channel environments.

This role serves as the internal category and analytics subject matter expert, responsible for enabling annual brand and retail line reviews, identifying innovation and distribution opportunities, and supporting long-range growth strategies through advanced business and shopper insights.
This is a strategic analytics role with direct influence on revenue growth, market share expansion, and innovation planning.
What You’ll Own
Category & Performance Analytics
- Lead category performance analysis across key customers, channels, and platforms
- Identify growth opportunities, risks, and emerging trends
- Analyze omni-channel performance, including digital shelf metrics and ecommerce conversion drivers
- Evaluate syndicated data, retailer analytics, and internal business performance datasets
Insight Translation & Business Strategy
- Translate shopper, consumer, and marketplace data into clear, actionable recommendations
- Support annual brand planning and retail line review processes
- Provide insights that inform innovation, portfolio optimization, assortment strategy, and pricing decisions
- Deliver post-campaign and promotional performance analysis to improve future effectiveness
Reporting & Data Infrastructure
- Develop and maintain category dashboards, scorecards, and reporting frameworks
- Improve visibility and accessibility of data across cross-functional teams
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance reporting efficiency and analytical accuracy
- Collaborate with external data partners and analytics platforms to elevate insight capabilities
Cross-Functional Influence
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Ecommerce, Brand, and Finance teams to support revenue growth and strategic planning
- Develop insight-driven presentations and category reviews for internal and customer-facing teams
- Serve as a trusted analytics partner across commercial functions
Required Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in category management, shopper insights, business analytics, ecommerce analytics, or related commercial analytics roles
- Experience working with syndicated data sources such as Nielsen, IRI/Circana, SPINS, or similar datasets
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis functions
- Experience analyzing ecommerce and digital shelf performance metrics (Stackline,Profitero, One Click Retail,Pacvue, etc. preferred)
- Experience building dashboards or using visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau preferred
- Demonstrated ability to translate data into clear business recommendations
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Analytics, Data Science, or related field preferred
