We are currently looking for a Lab Assistant to join our growing team!
Please note: This role is split approximately 50% courier duties (client sample pickup/drop-off) and 50% laboratory administrative support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Courier Responsibilities (Approx. 50%)Pick up and deliver client samples according to scheduled routes and timelines.
Ensure proper handling, chain of custody, and temperature control during transport.
Maintain delivery logs, perform vehicle safety checks, and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
Communicate professionally with clients during pickups and drop-offs.
Support urgent or on-demand deliveries as needed.
Log customer samples into the LIMS system with accuracy; use products as needed.
Split samples between departments and ensure timely, accurate, and reliable processing.
Maintain adherence to daily work schedules and workload priorities.
Make recommendations regarding logging processes, product specifications, and customer communications.
Perform clerical accuracy checks and ensure all samples are labeled and stored correctly.
Keep the sample receiving/splitting room organized, cleaned, and maintained.
Support ISO and QC documentation and process adherence.
Interact with clients, suppliers, and vendors as required.
Assist with purchasing, inventory management, and stocking supplies (labels, boxes, etc.).
Assist with sample retain and retrieval.
Support media preparation, washing of glassware, and general laboratory housekeeping.
Participate in special projects as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.
Keep the Manager/Supervisor informed of department issues or concerns.
Learn new techniques and technologies and help train others when appropriate.
Work effectively with other departments and contribute to a positive team environment.
Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma.
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle for daily courier routes.
Valid, clean driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Strong administrative skills, including data entry accuracy, document management, and organization.
Knowledge of aseptic technique and behaviors that reduce cross-contamination.
Basic laboratory skills and understanding of lab workflows.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to teach or guide others through processes.
Strong qualitative and quantitative reasoning skills.
Excellent mathematical and communication skills.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
Monday - Friday; 10am-7pm
