We’re seeking a Senior Freight & Logistics Specialist to lead and manage domestic and international transportation for complex, project-related cargo in the construction and heavy industrial sectors. This role will coordinate multi-modal freight movement, ensure compliance with trade regulations, and collaborate closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:

Lead and manage transportation for project cargo, including standard and oversized freight, across domestic and global routes

Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and brokers to ensure smooth and compliant cross-border logistics

Develop and execute project-specific logistics plans, optimizing for cost, schedule, and risk

Source and negotiate transportation and logistics contracts; maintain master agreements

Support project estimating and proposal efforts with transportation studies and pricing
-
Monitor and track freight movements; ensure timely, complete delivery

Evaluate carrier performance and recommend improvements to enhance cost control

Conduct freight audits and resolve billing issues

Prepare reports and documentation related to logistics planning and execution

Mentor junior staff and ensure adherence to QA/QC and safety standards

Recommend and implement improvements to logistics systems and processes
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, logistics, or related field and 7 years of logistics experience, or

Associate degree and 9 years experience, or
-
High school diploma and 11 years of relevant experience

Strong experience in transporting engineered or fabricated equipment for large-scale industrial projects (e.g., oil & gas, power, transmission)

Knowledge of Incoterms, customs, import/export compliance, and international freight regulations

Familiarity with CTL, HazMat, IATA, IMDG, and DOT regulations

Experience negotiating freight contracts and managing vendor relationships

Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with diverse teams and suppliers

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
