Position Summary
An HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. The technician ensures systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Perform preventive maintenance on heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment.
- Replace defective components, including motors, compressors, thermostats, and electrical controls.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
- Test system performance and make necessary adjustments for optimal efficiency.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and maintenance logs.
- Communicate with customers regarding repairs, maintenance recommendations, and system operation.
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in safe working condition.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- HVAC certification or completion of a technical training program.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and refrigeration principles.
- Ability to read technical documents and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Section 608 Certification.
- Experience with commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
