Overview:
Follow the Child Montessori School (FCM) is seeking a joyful, curious, and dedicated After School Assistant Teacher who enjoys collaborating with a team to create an engaging learning environment where children can build independence, confidence, and a love of learning.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Position Type: Part time
- Salary: $18-$20 per hour
- Age Groups: Toddlers or Preschoolers

What You’ll Do:
- Implement a wide range of activities that support children’s social-emotional and cognitive development.
- Partner with the Lead Teacher and faculty to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Maintain a well-prepared and organized classroom, including cleaning, organizing, and creating materials.
- Assist with classroom and playground supervision to ensure children’s safety and physical well-being.
- Redirect and support children throughout the day while serving as a positive social-emotional role model.
- Uphold and actively support FCM’s equity mission in daily practice.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
- Ability to handle physical activity and move comfortably between floor and desk work.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Warm, calm, and professional demeanor with a great sense of humor.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Interest in or knowledge of Montessori principles. Montessori training is not required.
