Book Processing Support Clerk (BPSC) Clerk Job Responsibilities
Performs duties to support the Book Processing operation by preparing materials needed for Book Processing in Pre-Processing, providing general support within the Book Processing department, and completing the processing of certain titles / orders in Post-Processing.
- Work in Pre-Processing area, programming RFID tags, linking barcode numbers to certain books/branch libraries, and cutting roll mylar to size for unjacketed books, as directed by management.
- Work in Post-Processing area trimming Kapco Easy Covers, ink-stamping books, sorting any no-read totes that may be diverted to the area or other related work as directed by management.
- Sort True Dewey orders in exact Dewey sequence by doing a title-to-title sort within each True Dewey tote.
- Distribute replacement kits and errors totes/books to Book Processors.
- Distribute and pick up special orders as directed (hand-carries).
- Pick-up, sort, and deliver damaged/defective, wrong/extra and goodwill books to Receiving or Returns.
- Stock processing supplies as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Degree or equivalent required
- 0-3 years experience
- Basic computer skills (general use)
- Ability to stand for 8 hours (with break
