Role Description The Associate will handle a variety of litigation and counseling matters, including legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and memoranda, and assisting with discovery. Responsibilities include reviewing documents, analyzing case facts and legal issues, preparing reports for supervising attorneys and clients, and contributing to case strategy. The Associate may participate in depositions, hearings, and client meetings under the guidance of more senior attorneys. This is a full-time position based in Ferndale, MI with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing a combination of in-office and work-from-home days as business needs permit.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission, or eligibility for admission, to the Michigan bar.
- Strong legal research and writing skills, including the ability to draft clear, well-supported pleadings, motions, and memoranda.
- Experience or coursework in litigation-related practice areas, such as civil litigation, insurance defense, or commercial disputes, is beneficial.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail in reviewing documents and assessing case strategy.
- Professional communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and courts, both in writing and in person.
