Check out our candidates' success stories!The Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe) will be responsible for delivering high-quality, individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities. This educator must be professionally prepared to design and implement IEP-driven instruction, provide behavioral and academic support, and maintain a structured, inclusive, and nurturing environment. The teacher is expected to uphold the high standards and expectations of the school and ensure that every student is supported in achieving measurable growth.Duties & Responsibilities• Develops, delivers, and supervises instruction aligned with IEP goals, state standards, and school expectations.• Monitors, documents, and assesses student academic, behavioral, and functional progress.• Maintains consistent communication with the principal, general education teachers, and support staff regarding student needs and progress.• Implements positive, proactive behavior support strategies and fosters a supportive, non-punitive classroom environment.• Adapts curriculum materials, instructional strategies, and learning activities based on student needs and accommodations.• Collaborates with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure comprehensive support.• Prepares and maintains accurate student records, progress reports, and required documentation.• Participates in IEP meetings, professional development, and schoolwide initiatives.Competencies• Punctual, reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to varying student needs.• Builds strong relationships with students and staff; sensitive and responsive to individual needs.• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions.• Effective collaborator with strong problem-solving and communication skills.Skills / Knowledge / EducationValid Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe) with EL authorization (or equivalent).Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.Experience working with students with disabilities (minimum three years preferred).Knowledge of differentiated instruction, behavior intervention, data collection, and assistive technology.Strong oral and written communication skills (Spanish highly desired).Ability to implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies.Physical RequirementsThis position requires a moderate to high level of physical activity, with the ability to move quickly between students or areas to ensure safety. Must be able to bend, kneel, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform regular walking and movement throughout the day. Must be able to supervise students by sight and sound at all times, indoors and outdoors.
Salary : $53,100 - $70,100
