Overview
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials and finished products throughout the facility. Duties include transporting materials to production areas, moving finished goods to storage, and returning unused materials to designated locations. Operators will load and unload trailers, place pallet tops, band and shrink-wrap pallets, and move trash bales when needed. They will use handheld scanners to track inventory, verify product locations, and maintain accurate inventory counts. The position also involves supplying production lines, consolidating products, and keeping work areas clean and organized. Employees must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety procedures, and company quality standards. Operators are expected to report food safety hazards, process issues, and other concerns to supervisors. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have strong communication and basic math skills, and be able to safely operate and maintain a forklift. Employees must pass forklift certification training within the first week and may need Ottawa certification. Two or more years of forklift experience, scanner experience, and a willingness to learn are preferred, and the position may require overtime.
Pay: From $19.09 per hour
