Summary
As a Data Conversion Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in managing the conversion of sensitive patient data between systems, supporting organizational initiatives that depend on reliable, accurate data migration and reporting. You'll lead efforts in data extraction, mapping, and transformation while collaborating across departments and directly with stakeholders.
You'll also contribute to the design and development of clinical and operational metrics dashboards, validate business requirements, and ensure the integrity of data solutions from start to finish. This role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and a consulting mindset to succeed in a fully remote environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to provide comprehensive data analysis and support for enterprise-level healthcare projects.
- Work with business requestors to determine data requirements and ensure best practices for extraction, mapping, and conversion are followed.
- Identify relevant data sources and ensure data solutions meet quality and functional requirements.
- Analyze, transform, and validate complex datasets containing sensitive medical and clinical information.
- Lead and support data conversion projects from planning through execution and post-conversion validation.
- Serve as a liaison between IT teams, business stakeholders, and end users to ensure clear understanding of technical and functional needs.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing and feedback collection to optimize data solutions.
- Participate in the design, build, testing, and delivery of data repositories, reports, dashboards, and ETL pipelines.
Technical Skills and Tools
- Proficiency in SQL, with hands-on experience working within the Microsoft tech stack.
- Strong ability to author complex, performant SQL queries to support reporting and analysis needs.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Power BI, including:
- DAX functions for complex calculations
- Row-level security setup
- Paginated reports
- Shared datasets and report subscriptions
- Power BI workspace management
- Familiarity with Azure-based technologies, including Azure SQL, Data Lake, Data Bricks, and Data Factory is preferred.
- Experience using DevOps or Git for code repository management.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3-7 years of experience in a data engineering, reporting analyst, or similar role.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Power BI is preferred.
- Background in healthcare is preferred, but not required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fully remote, fast-moving team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
- Competitive pay commensurate with experience | $70,000-$110,000 annually
