Focus Sleep Centers is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist / Billing Manager to join our growing team. This position will be based in our Germantown, Tennessee location and will play a key role in overseeing billing operations, insurance claims management, and authorization workflows across our sleep medicine practice.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in medical billing, insurance claims, and prior authorizations, along with the leadership ability to help manage and guide billing staff. Experience working within a medical practice environment is required. Sleep medicine billing experience is a strong plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day medical billing operations for the practice
Submit and monitor insurance claims for accuracy and timely reimbursement
Work denied or rejected claims and perform appeals when appropriate
Coordinate and track prior authorizations with insurance carriers
Maintain accurate billing records and ensure compliance with payer guidelines
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
Work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to resolve billing issues
Assist in supervising and supporting staff
Help improve billing workflows and operational efficiency
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and medical billing regulations
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing
Strong understanding of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and claims management
Experience with denials management and insurance follow-up
Experience working within a medical practice or healthcare organization
Ability to manage and support a team
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and attention to detail
Familiarity with EHR and billing systems
Sleep medicine billing experience is a plus but not required
