Food Service Employee

Full-Time | Macon Campus | $16.00 an hour

Overview

A full-time Food Service Employee is needed to assist with food preparation, serving, and cleanup for students, staff, visitors, and special events. This role supports daily meal service, maintains sanitation standards, operates kitchen equipment, and may assist with cashier duties. Occasional travel within the service area may be required, including support for campus Child Development Centers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food according to daily menus and standardized procedures
• Assist with special events, banquets, and receptions as needed
• Monitor temperatures of hot/cold items and follow safe food handling guidelines
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and dishwashing machines
• Stock shelves, coolers, and freezers
• Clean tables, chairs, kitchen areas, and remove trash
• Perform cashier duties, including operating a debit card machine
• Complete required trainings in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours/week
• Current schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
• Flexibility required for occasional evening/weekend hours
• Position may require travel between Macon and Warner Robins locations
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months of food service or related experience
• SafeServ (or equivalent) food safety certification
  
  

Note: Due to serving Child Development Centers, candidates must meet background check requirements under GA Bright From the Start and the Technical College System of Georgia.
