The Community Engagement Specialist (CES) TPT position exists to engage with our constituents through social media profiles. Will moderate, engage with and respond to constituent comments and/or messages on various social media platforms. Employs best response practices for social media platforms while engaging with FOTF’s social media audiences. Helps to identify viral trending comments to enable quick responses from the ministry when necessary. Stays up to date on Content Producer articles and their anticipated responses. Uses anticipated responses with discernment and as necessary.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Creates high‑quality responses to social media comments and direct messages across platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, and others as defined by the Social Media Leadership Team), ensuring alignment with style guides and sound discernment.
- Identifies spam messages and takes appropriate action in accordance with platform and organizational guidelines.
- Communicates Focus on the Family’s orthodoxy using approved proto responses, with appropriate personalization and original writing for the designated Key Ministry Indicators (KMIs) and priorities.
- Determines when a comment or direct message warrants a response, using discernment and established guidelines.
- Provides empathetic, ministry‑aligned responses that foster authentic engagement and reflect Focus on the Family’s values and resources.
- Communicates with empathy and professionalism in complex emotional situations while upholding legal and ethical boundaries.
- Locates, interprets, and applies procedures for all response types using the current knowledge‑management database.
- Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of Content Producers’ recommended article responses and incorporates them appropriately.
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
- Required to work from home on snow delays, early closures, or full closure days
- Required to work overtime when ministry needs arise
- May have the option to work from home on department designated hybrid days
- Performs other duties as assigned
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Office/Production environment performed at individual workstations or workstations at home
- Ability to understand conversational atmosphere of social media
- Fast paced, high stress, frequent changes in process and procedures
- Repetitive motion
- Ability to respond to changes in procedures and style guides
- Ability to perform keying functions for 70% of the time or more
- Ability to type proficiently minimum 45 words per minute
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Ability to work evening and weekend shifts as required
- Ability to speak, hear and see clearly
- Ability to maneuver multiple computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Sprout Social, Salesforce

Knowledge/Experience:
- Associate’s degree or two years of college preferred
- 2-4 years of Social Media response or related experience preferred
- Knowledgeable in Social Media venues

- Requires minimal supervision, follows standard practices, referring questionable matters to the Working Supervisor, Community Engagement

Pay Range: $18.00 to $21.00
