Job Duties:
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs physical therapy, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
- Meets with the administration, medical and nursing staff, as well as other related departments in planning therapy services.
- Develops and maintains physical therapy standards.
- assumes the authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the physical therapy service.
- Determines the staffing needs of the physical therapy department necessary to meet the needs of the residents.
- Assists the administrator and/or the personnel director in the recruitment and selection of competent physical therapy personnel.
- Provides guidance and training for new and/or less experienced personnel.
- Assists the physician in evaluating the patient's level of function.
- Performs patient tests, measurements, and evaluations - such as: range of motion and manual muscle tests, gait and function analysis, and body parts measurements - and records and evaluates findings to aid in establishing or revising specifics of treatment programs.
- Plans and administers prescribed physical therapy treatment programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body part.
- Performs and submits required documentation of patient evaluations, plans of care, clinical notes, and progress reports.
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university.
- Must possess a current PA Physical Therapist license.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a therapist capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
- Must have a COVID-19 Vaccination completed
