Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Associate Buyer to support our senior buying team in managing product selection, vendor relationships, and inventory strategies across multiple categories, including consumer electronics, home goods, sporting equipment, and related accessories.
In this role, you will contribute to data-driven decision-making, optimize product listings, and help drive marketplace performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 2 years of eCommerce or buying experience who is eager to grow within a fast-paced and collaborative retail environment.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Brooklyn office.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Category Management
- Support Senior Buyers in analyzing category trends and identifying high-performing SKUs
- Assist with assortment planning, including new product introductions and discontinuation of underperforming items
- Monitor competitive pricing and recommend adjustments to maintain profitability
- Maintain and optimize product listings, ensuring accuracy and completeness across platforms
Inventory & Purchase Order Management
- Monitor inventory levels and partner with warehouse teams to ensure efficient product flow
- Create, track, and manage purchase orders; follow up with vendors on shipment timelines
- Analyze inventory performance and identify risks related to overstock or stockouts
- Allocate inventory for Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) and manage replenishment schedules
Vendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support vendor relationship management, ensuring accurate product, cost, and pricing data
- Assist with vendor onboarding and documentation processes
- Collaborate with Marketing and IT teams to enhance product visibility, content, and promotions
Pricing, Promotions & Sales Analysis
- Analyze sales performance, margins, and trends to inform buying and pricing strategies
- Maintain accurate pricing across internal systems and online marketplaces
- Assist in planning and executing promotions, seasonal campaigns, and product launches
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or eCommerce marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, eBay)
- Strong proficiency in Excel and solid understanding of retail math (markup, margin, GMROI, WOS)
- Analytical mindset with experience working with large datasets and performance reports
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- High attention to detail with strong follow-through
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with private label products
- Familiarity with professional audio (pro audio) equipment, brands, or categories is a strong plus
