Seeking an experienced, detail oriented, professional to manage the production environment and warehouse operations of our growing business at FoamOrder.com in Richmond, CA. In this role you will manage all production operations at our >15,000sf manufacturing facility. Significant experience managing a team in a warehouse production environment is required.
Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring workers adhere to work rules and meet efficiency and accuracy goals, while maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for continuous improvement. This is a custom manufacturing shop, so management experience in a custom shop vs. assembly line is a strong plus.
Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of 8-12 person production staff, providing training, guidance, and support.
- Implement and enforce production rules, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure all workers know their priorities and key tasks.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard new production staff.
- Train new team members and conduct ongoing training to develop skills.
- Conduct employee performance and compensation reviews.
- Know how to do every job in the warehouse, to be able to train new employees and to fill in as necessary
- Foster a positive team culture and promote job ownership.
Production/Warehouse Management
- Manage daily production schedule and order scheduling for our custom manufacturing environment.
- Ensure the production area is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Conduct monthly OSHA/Safety training and maintain compliance logs.
- Optimize production shifts and schedules to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Implement 5S methodology and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
Performance Metrics:
- Ensure timely production and shipment of orders.
- Establish and track team goals and bonus structures.
- Monitor and manage key metrics, including on-time/late rates and error rates.
- Work with the management team to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Solve issues related to late orders and errors.
- Analyze and revamp the production process to implement better quality and time control so that late orders and errors are reduced significantly.
Qualifications:
- Proven success leading a shift in a production environment. Strong leadership skills are key.
- Strong understanding of custom production operations and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train and motivate team members.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with production management systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
