We have a challenging and exciting opportunity for a Lead in the Trailer Assembly line to work in our newest facility in Mesquite, TX.
Summary:
Oversee and conduct daily activities related to all production activities on an assigned line, ensuring correct manning, safety, quality, and efficient processes are performed correctly by assembly team members.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Directs a team of 4-5 members tasked with the assembly, testing, and packaging of manufactured products to meet daily production goals.
- Documents Line actions by completing and updating the production results board on an hourly basis.
- Prepares work activities by studying assembly instructions and parts lists, gathering parts, sub-assemblies, tools and materials for the current job.
- Ensures space is utilized in the most advantageous method and that required materials are present in designated areas at the correct times.
- Assembles components, examines connections for correct fit, and fastens parts using Work Instructions.
- Verifies product is correctly assembled and meets specifications per Work Instructions.
- Resolves assembly problems by troubleshooting issues to meet quality and demand; notifies supervisor to obtain additional resources.
- Identifies non-conforming product and completes tags for Quality Assurance daily.
- Troubleshoots malfunctions, submits requests for repairs; oversees and records work performed.
- Supports onboarding and training of new personnel.
- Initiates and maintains a safe, clean work environment in compliance with company standards.
- Identifies and documents areas of improvement to boost safety, quality and production efficiencies.
- Assist in other work areas, as needed, during absences/shortages of staff.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools (torque wrench, drill, hole saws, screw guns, pliers, etc.)
- Able to perform repetitive motions (i.e. bending, climbing, standing, stoop, etc.)
Education and Experience:
- 2 years of experience in Production operations, preferably in a Lead role.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish required.
Work Hours:
Typical schedule is 6:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday, with occasional need for overtime as required to complete production activities.
