Vendor Relations Specialist
Farmingdale, New York
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Vendor Relations Specialist to serve as a mediator and consultant in service escalations. In this role, you will work to resolve situations with our service providers where there has been a concern about payment, quality, workmanship, work safety, or professional conduct. Your goal will be to de-escalate these situations and seek a resolution that maintains the relationship with a competent service provider while also addressing the concerns of the business and the site manager receiving the service. You will ensure that our standards are met without sacrificing valuable service provider partnerships.
Duties
· Act as the lead in addressing escalated disputes between clients and service providers around issues including billing, work quality, safety, and professional conduct.
· Analyze the work order, photos, and other evidence to make a fair decision regarding payment adjustments, rework requirements, or other corrective actions to address both the client and service provider’s concerns.
· Conduct a thorough evaluation of the situation to determine the cause of the escalation
· Deliver direct and constructive feedback to service providers to avoid future occurrences while still maintaining the provider relationship.
· Evaluate the severity of issues to determine if the provider’s actions would require offboarding from our network.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to foster collaboration and trust.
· Oversee supplier performance management by monitoring KPIs related to delivery times, quality, compliance, and inventory levels.
Experience
· 3-5 years in construction or facilities management, dealing with vendor troubleshooting and mediation
· Familiarity with a range of skilled trades
· Demonstrated ability in vendor management with a focus on cost savings and quality improvement.
· Excellent negotiation skills coupled with the ability to build lasting vendor partnerships based on transparency and mutual benefit.
