General Definition of Work
Performs intermediate skilled technical work providing assistance to FMPA and member regulatory compliance through a variety of coordinated research and communications, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Manager of Regulatory Compliance, or as otherwise assigned.

Essential Functions
Conducts research and review of required compliance standards by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), SERC Reliability Corporation (SERC), and their respective Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Programs (CMEP); monitors these and other industry groups, including participation in committees, as appropriate, to stay informed of policies, standards, and implementations of new requirements and regulations.
Provides member support by guiding members with standard compliance, assisting in or conducting peer review audits, communicating compliance requirements and risks, assisting with balloting and commenting on the NERC standard development process, and participating in meetings, task force groups, and workshops.
Provides support to the Agency's Internal Compliance Program (ICP) by working with Engineering Services, Power Generation Fleet, Business Development and Planning, and power plant management and personnel to assist in ensuring NERC compliance; assisting with internal training and communication; and evaluating compliance documentation for sufficiency and appropriateness.
Oversees the compliance document management system for the Agency.
Assists on miscellaneous internal projects and other work as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and department policies, practices, and procedures; thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and departmental legal guides, recommendations, best practices, ordinances, and laws; ability to evaluate and maintain accurate manuals and records; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, industry professionals, and the general public.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree with coursework in electrical engineering, business, legal, or related field and moderate experience in the electric power utilities industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of regulatory compliance experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
This work is sedentary and requires little to no exertion of force; work regularly requires sitting and using hands to finger, handle or feel and frequently speaking or hearing; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data; work is generally in a quiet location (e.g. library, private offices).
