We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in insurance within the construction industry, including hands-on experience with captive insurance programs—both group and single-parent (cell) structures. This individual will also demonstrate a proven ability to manage and support a complex, evolving, and expanding book of business that consistently delivers strong long-term performance.
This is a full-time, remote opportunity that can also be based in our downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, corporate headquarters.

Responsibilities
- Interacting with clients by capturing exposures, billing, and overseeing the policy and claim process, as well as working with FIL’s participants to facilitate the smooth operation of their cell captive and the group captive program.
- Interacting with business partners by working daily with the Captive Management team and other external partners to ensure new and ongoing client needs are met and that all information necessary for these team members to carry out their duties has been supplied.
- Providing administrative support through coordinating, scheduling, and supporting annual board meetings, annual peer group meetings, business development activities, and other internal and external sessions.
- Supporting client and team operations by ensuring all documentation, renewals, and data are accurate, complete, and processed in a timely manner.
- Maintaining knowledge of FMI’s captive structure, processes, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
- Facilitating communication across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration and client satisfaction.
- Contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and the overall client experience.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, preferably in construction risk management and/or construction insurance
- Knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, contracts, and underwriting
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and strong attention to detail
- Insurance certification a plus
- Experience supporting captive insurance programs (group or single-parent/cell) preferred
- Strong understanding of client service within a consulting or advisory environment
- Driven self-starter with the ability to perform in an entrepreneurial environment, both individually and as a team player
