Main Function:

Accountable for executing FM’s payroll processes including the timely and accurate processing of FM’s payroll for all team members, ensuring all team members are paid at the appropriate wage for all worked performed, including prevailing wages as applicable. Sets-up and maintains wage codes within payroll system and provides internal and external reporting on wages paid and payroll generally. Position works under direction of Accounting Manager will also support Human Resources efforts. You will be exposed to confidential information and will be expected to keep it confidential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Processes FM payroll

o Reviews all timecard entries to ensure accuracy

o Reviews and enters all adjustments – increases, due-from, reimbursements, commissions, etc.

o Identifies prevailing wage eligible work and determines calculations

o Enters data into payroll system

o Submits payroll after supervisor approval, and distributes paychecks

· Throughout week, monitors timecard and time entry, reviewing for accuracy and wage classification

· Manages prevailing wage rate tracking and applicable work categories for all applicable work. Identifies, updates, and enters into system(s) wage and fringe rates for all work categories for all impacted team members

· Updates other teams with changes to prevailing wage and fringe rates, as applicable

· Responsible for the accurate and timely execution of payroll support functions including PTO and time tracking, working with Human Resources as required

· Prepares & submits certified payroll reports as required/requested

· Responds to customer inquiries related to wages paid for public work jobs

· Advises managers on time recording of associated staff and identified tracking or recording issues

· Investigates any hours-worked disputes between an employee and his/her manager; acts as first level mediator to resolve dispute

· Reviews & approves expense reimbursements; notifies supervisor of any questionable amounts

· Processes additional payrolls including final paychecks, payroll corrections, and bonuses

· Calculates, tracks, and verifies all payroll liability taxes, fees, employee loans/due-from/to’s, and other related payments and payroll items

· Performs related ERP posts including journal entries, reconciles payroll between payroll system and ERP

· Enhances existing processes to identify areas where automation or alternate processes will result in a reduced time frame for completion of tasks

· Ensures compliance with Department of Revenue notices, working as necessary with an employee to guarantee all necessary dependent enrollments are complete or a payroll deduction is created in the HRIS

· Keeps self-apprised of federal & state labor laws and EEOC compliance

· Produces payroll reports for management as scheduled/requested

· Works closely with Human Resources, being cross trained on key functions to assist as back up as necessary

· Provides additional support to Finance Team as requested and performs other related duties as assigned and/or directed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent required
  • A bachelor’s degree is related field a plus
  • Payroll processing and prevailing wage payroll administration experience preferred
  • Familiarity with payroll processes
  • Working knowledge payroll systems
  • Conversance with both the Microsoft and Google suites of business products
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and personnel in an articulate, courteous and business-like manner at all times.
  • Ability to convey issues and problems clearly both in writing and orally
  • Capable of working with appropriate supervision and perform effectively under tight time deadlines
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
