Job Summary:
The Production Technician supports daily production operations by monitoring well performance, assisting with troubleshooting, and performing routine maintenance tasks. This role works closely with field operations and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production across assigned assets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily production performance and report anomalies or underperformance to the engineering team.
- Assist with implementing optimization plans and artificial lift strategies under engineer guidance.
- Support field operations through troubleshooting and rapid response to equipment or process issues.
- Collect and record failure data, assist in root cause analysis, and help execute corrective actions.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on downhole and surface equipment to ensure mechanical integrity.
- Assist in chemical treatment programs and flow assurance activities as directed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production data, maintenance activities, and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors during well interventions, workovers, and equipment installations.
- Travel to field locations as needed (approximately 25%) to support operations and project implementation.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in petroleum technology or related field preferred.
- Experience: minimum of 2 years in oil and gas production operations or related technical role.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of artificial lift systems, well operations, and production equipment.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and assist in troubleshooting under supervision.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for reporting and coordination with field and engineering teams.
- Must be within a 1 hour commuting distance of Ryan Gulch, CO.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with production monitoring software (e.g., Open Wells or similar).
- Experience with routine maintenance, failure analysis, and cost control practices.
- Knowledge of Rockies or Piceance Basin operations is a plus.
