Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Serve as lead engineer on bridge and structural projects for highway, rail, and transit.
- Oversee all project phases, from preliminary studies and technical reports to final design, cost estimates, and construction support.
- Review structural calculations, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to meet client and agency standards.
- Perform condition inspections, load ratings, and structural evaluations on existing bridges.
- Ensure projects are delivered with constructability and long-term performance in mind.
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior staff.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive project delivery.
- Contribute to proposal development and support strategic business development initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 12 years of bridge engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington or Idaho
- Proficiency in software such as SAP2000, Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PGSuper, Conspan, LPile, BRASS
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-interfacing skills
- Ability to perform field inspections
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
- Structural Engineer (SE) license in Washington or Idaho
- Experience with WSDOT and ITD bridge design standards
- Familiarity with bridge inspection and load rating procedures
