Job Summary
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating manual press brake machines to bend, form, and fabricate metal components according to engineering drawings and production specifications. This role ensures parts meet quality standards while maintaining safety, efficiency, and productivity in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual press brake machines.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and production schedules.
- Select proper tooling (dies, punches) and verify correct setup for material type and thickness.
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure precision and quality standards are met.
- Load and unload materials, including sheet and plate metal.
- Maintain production efficiency and meet daily output goals.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment clean and in good working condition.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or quality issues.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety policies.
- Assist in other fabrication duties as needed (shearing, spot welder, folder, forming, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of bend allowances and material properties.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or Equivalent Certificate
- 1-3 years of press brake experience in a metal fabrication environment preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8 hours).
- Frequently lift up to 60 lbs; team lifting for heavier materials.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and handle sheet metal safely.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment (noise, dust, temperature variations).

- Full-time position, 40 hours per week
- Day Shift - Monday thru Friday
