Section Supervisor

Our Public Works department is looking for a Section Supervisor

Performs supervisory work functions associated with planning, organizing, and supervising projects involving the construction, repair, and maintenance of roads, bridges, and related operations. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
• Schedules projects and makes work assignments.
• Coordinates availability of necessary equipment/materials; monitors work safety factors; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments.
• Assists in planning, organizing, and supervising projects associated with the construction, repair and maintenance of County roads, bridges, landfill, recycling center, maintenance shops, landscape and grounds maintenance, sign fabrication, and related functions;
• Operates a motor vehicle, maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s degree, vocational technical degree or equivalent specialized training,
• And five years of supervisory experience
• Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must possess and maintain a erosion control blue card.
