Advanced Steel Technology (AST) is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team in a fast-paced steel fabrication environment. As a Production Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations across multiple manufacturing departments, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

What You'll Do

• Lead and supervise production teams in shipping, bending, beveling, machining, straightening, and welding operations.
• Plan daily production schedules and adjust priorities to meet customer demands and production goals.
• Assign and reassign employees to maximize productivity and equipment utilization.
• Train, coach, and develop employees while building a strong cross-trained workforce.
• Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with company specifications and procedures.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support for machinery, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
• Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and other departments to coordinate workflow and improve efficiencies.
• Drive continuous improvement by reducing setup times, improving production methods, and minimizing waste.
• Maintain inventory and control of departmental materials, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
• Conduct safety meetings, investigate incidents, enforce PPE requirements, and promote a strong safety culture.
• Perform performance evaluations, administer company policies, and support employee development.
• Prepare production reports, quality metrics, and departmental performance summaries.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience supervising employees in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold employees accountable.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication, machining, welding, or related manufacturing processes preferred.
• Understanding of manufacturing principles, production scheduling, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
• Experience interpreting work orders, production schedules, and manufacturing documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification).
• Experience operating an overhead crane is preferred.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
