We're partnered with a well-established General Contractor in the Chicagoland area that is looking to add a Construction Accountant to their growing team.

Unlike a traditional accounting role, this position will work closely with project teams and operations, playing a key role in managing the financial performance of active construction projects from start to finish.

Their portfolio includes a diverse mix of commercial, industrial, interiors, and other construction projects throughout the Chicago market, giving this role exposure to a wide range of project types and teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Manage project financials from project startup through closeout
• Track budgets, committed costs, change orders, and project expenditures
• Review subcontractor invoices, payment applications, and lien waivers
• Assist with monthly financial reporting, forecasting, and cost analysis
• Partner with Project Managers and operations teams on project financials
• Monitor job profitability and identify potential cost issues
• Support accurate project billing and accounting processes

What They're Looking For:

• 5 years of Construction Accounting or Project Accounting experience
• Experience working within the construction industry preferred
• Strong understanding of job costing, project financials, and reporting
• Detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with both accounting and project teams
