ROLE SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Setup and operation of manual and/or CNC machining equipment
- Ability to make program edits at the machine for CNC equipment
- Machining of components to meet print dimensions and tolerances
- Accurate p arts measurement using tools such as, but not limited to
- Outside micrometer
- Inside micrometer
- Depth micrometer
- Digital, dial and vernier calipers
- Scales
- Maintain ing an organized and safe work environment and help to drive improvements in the work center that will lead to increases in safety and efficiency
- Accurately complet ing all paperwork associated with tasks being performed
- Keep ing up to date with all required trainings
- Work ing on a variety of parts and processes and may work across multiple machines
- Can resolve most problems and questions within a defined set of parameters
- May provide guidance to lower-level employees
- Typically, 3 – 5 years’ experience doing similar work
- Understands and buys into a zero-accident safety culture expectation
- Strong shop math skills including arithmetic, conversion of fractions to decimals, basic trigonometry
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/production drawings including tolerancing
- For CNC machines, a strong understanding of G-code and / or conversational programming
- Knowledge of fixtur ing and safe / effective work holding
- Experience working with cast materials
- Experience with basic rigging and use of overhead cranes
- Firm understanding of turning and milling insert geometries and grades
- Understanding of basic cut conditions including appropriate feeds, speeds and depths of cut
- Previous experience machining stainless alloys
- First shift positions Monday thru Friday, 06:30-1500
- Second shift hours Monday thru Friday, 14:45-23:15
- Overtime as required ( required overtime will have 36-hour notice)
