ROLE SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Setup and operation of manual and/or CNC machining equipment
Ability to make program edits at the machine for CNC equipment
Machining of components to meet print dimensions and tolerances
Accurate p arts measurement using tools such as, but not limited to
Outside micrometer
Inside micrometer
Depth micrometer
Digital, dial and vernier calipers
Scales
Maintain ing an organized and safe work environment and help to drive improvements in the work center that will lead to increases in safety and efficiency
Accurately complet ing all paperwork associated with tasks being performed
Keep ing up to date with all required trainings
Work ing on a variety of parts and processes and may work across multiple machines
Can resolve most problems and questions within a defined set of parameters
May provide guidance to lower-level employees
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Typically, 3 – 5 years’ experience doing similar work
Understands and buys into a zero-accident safety culture expectation
Strong shop math skills including arithmetic, conversion of fractions to decimals, basic trigonometry
Ability to read and interpret mechanical/production drawings including tolerancing
For CNC machines, a strong understanding of G-code and / or conversational programming
Knowledge of fixtur ing and safe / effective work holding
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Experience working with cast materials
Experience with basic rigging and use of overhead cranes
Firm understanding of turning and milling insert geometries and grades
Understanding of basic cut conditions including appropriate feeds, speeds and depths of cut
Previous experience machining stainless alloys
SITE SPECIFIC DETAILS
First shift positions Monday thru Friday, 06:30-1500
Second shift hours Monday thru Friday, 14:45-23:15
Overtime as required ( required overtime will have 36-hour notice)
