Qualifications
- Experience or strong interest in automotive repair, dismantling, or mechanical work, including familiarity with vehicle systems and components.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and other shop tools commonly used in automotive dismantling.
- Knowledge of basic safety practices, including proper handling of automotive fluids, batteries, and parts, and adherence to OSHA and environmental guidelines.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in outdoor yard conditions.
- Attention to detail for correctly identifying, tagging, and organizing parts, and following written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable work habits, including punctuality, teamwork, and effective communication with supervisors and coworkers.
- Prior experience in an auto salvage yard, automotive shop, or related environment is preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is beneficial; valid driver’s license and clean driving record are a plus.
