Job Overview:

Come join the Flower Power Dispensers team on the Upper West Side! As a Customer Experience Associate or “Budtender” at our licensed New York State Retail Dispensary, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive, efficient, and educational experience for our patrons. You will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting cannabis products, offering product knowledge, and maintaining a clean and organized retail environment. The ideal candidate should have a passion for cannabis, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to compliance with state regulations. Role reports to Budtender Manager.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Provide well-informed product recommendations based on customer preferences, needs, and desired effects.
• Educate customers on the various strains, products, and consumption methods.
• Role will require work at front door, at point of sale, and on the sales floor.

2. Product Knowledge:

• Stay informed about the latest cannabis products, strains, and industry trends.
• Provide accurate and detailed information about the effects, potency, and benefits of different products.
• Participate in inventory sample trials.

3. Sales and Transactions:

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
• Handle cash and electronic payments in accordance with company policies.
• Upsell and cross-sell products to enhance the customer experience.
• Package sales at the point of sale.

4. Compliance:

• Adhere to all relevant regulations governing the sale of cannabis products.
• Verify customer identification and ensure all transactions are legal and compliant.
• Participate in trainings provided by employer to keep up-to-date with changes in regulations and company policies.

5. Inventory Management:

• Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and monitoring product expiration dates.
• Report discrepancies or issues with inventory to the management team.

6. Store Maintenance:

• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the store at all times.
• Assist with routine cleaning tasks and maintain a visually appealing retail space.
• Help with customer flow and store operations as needed.
• Assist with opening and closing of store as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous customer service or retail experience, prior cannabis dispensary retail sales experience preferred.
• Basic understanding or proficiency with point-of-sale and inventory management systems. Ideal candidate has experience with cannabis point of sale operating systems.
• Knowledge and passion for cannabis products and customer service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• At least achieved a high school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift, carry, unpack, or otherwise move packages weighing up to 25 to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to work sales floor and stand behind point-of-sale counter for prolonged periods

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 – 40 per week

• 10 hour shift
• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Morning shift
• Night shift

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Friday
• Rotating weekends
• Weekends as needed
