Position Title: Baler
Pay Type: Hourly
FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Lead Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
Location: Rochester, NY – LEE RD.
Salary Range: $17-20/Hour
This position is for our B-Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am EST)
Summary/Objective:
The Baler will assist with shipping and receiving operations, order fulfillment, kit packing and coordination of offsite warehouse operations, ensure optimal profitability, timely completion of each assigned job and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
- Empty trash throughout the building.
- Operate baling machine and load trailer with bales.
- Assist shipping department when required.
- Locate customer orders on production floor and move to shipping area for processing when required.
- Wrap and band customer orders.
- Load trucks.
- Process paperwork.
- Assist receiving department when required.
- Unload trucks.
- Assist other FCG branches when required.
- Back up for shipper when required.
- Takes direction from leadership with a positive attitude.
- Manually transfers goods from Gaylord to baling machine.
- Operates baling machine to compress into bales.
- Responsible for following and complying with all safety rules and for using appropriate safety equipment. Immediately acts and/or reports any unsafe or potential hazards.
- Any other duties, as assigned.

Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Regularly required to sit, regular use of hands.
- Frequently required to stand and walk.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must be able to work under pressure with ever changing deadlines and priorities.
Requirement/Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in a Manufacturing setting.
- Kit Packing and/or packaging experience highly preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- A two-year degree or equivalent from a technical school.
- Two (2) years of work experience or an equivalent of four (4) years in the industry.
