Position Title: Mounter Operator

Pay Type: Hourly

FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Finishing Manager

Location: Rochester, NY – MTR 

Salary Range: $22 - $26 hourly

We are looking for a Mounter Operator for our A-Shift and B-Shift

A-Shift (M-F 7:00am-3:30am EST)

B-Shift (M-F 3:30pm - 12:00am EST)

Summary/Objective:

The Mounter Operator is responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on all assigned machines. Through these activities, the Mounter Operator will ensure the highest level of productivity is consistently achieved.

Essential Functions:

• Review press & bindery ticket to completely understand work to be done.

• Collect all pertinent information and material regarding the job including chip (e.g. cut pieces, press tickets, bindery tickets, job bag).

• Note any defects in the printing by reviewing any quality tags.

• Verify size with proofs and ticket.

• Set up machine.

• Have mounted sample approved by a senior operator or Finishing Manager.

• If a helper is needed, explain job, and have the person read the job ticket and bindery ticket.

• Feed material into machine – check constantly for position, give transfer and scratching on both sides of sheet.

• Complete load tag.

• If needed, bring finished product to shipping.

• Fill out bindery ticket.

• Add into job tracking computer.

• Clean machine and area surrounding machine.

• Complete any preventive maintenance.

• Immediately alert senior operator or Finishing Manager of any machine or safety problems.

• Performs all other tasks/duties as may be assigned by their supervisor.

Competencies:

• Knowledge of the Print and Packaging Industries

• Ensure communication regarding machine issues with leaders and staff

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

• Ability to work on other equipment as needed.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to talk or hear.

• Occasionally required to sit.

• Regular use of hands.

• Frequently required to stand and walk.

• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• The employee must be able to work under pressure with ever changing deadlines and priorities.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Experience with laminating.

• Overtime will be required at times (including some weekends).

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and/or equivalent professional experience.
