ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership and system design capability across our U.S. projects.

This is not a back-office design role. You will work directly with consulting engineers and project stakeholders to ensure vacuum sewer systems are correctly applied, well designed, and successfully delivered.

You will play a key role in shaping projects early, building engineering confidence, and converting opportunities into practical, buildable solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

System Design & Technical Leadership

  • Support network design including profiles, zoning, and valve placement
  • Ensure alignment between collection systems and vacuum stations
  • Provide technical input into proposals and early-stage project development

Engineering Firm Engagement

  • Work directly with consulting engineers and design teams
  • Review and guide system designs
  • Provide practical, experience-based advice
  • Help engineers understand and confidently apply vacuum technology

Project Development Support

  • Participate in early-stage meetings with engineering firms and clients
  • Translate opportunities into clear technical concepts
  • Support specification development and design inclusion
  • Strengthen Flovac’s technical credibility in the market

System Integrity & Risk Management

  • Identify and prevent poor system design decisions
  • Ensure systems are treated as integrated networks, not individual components
  • Support internal technical review prior to supply
  • Protect system performance and long-term reliability

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or in progress

  • Consulting engineering or design environments
  • Working with municipalities, utilities, or developers

Key Traits

  • Practical and solutions-focused mindset
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable working externally with consulting engineers and stakeholders
  • Understands real-world system behavior, not just theory

HOW YOU’LL WORK

You’ll work closely with our Business Development team:

  • Business Development opens opportunities and builds relationships
  • You provide technical depth, credibility, and design leadership

Together, you will engage engineers early, shape project direction, and help secure specifications and project wins.

COMPENSATION

  • Base Salary: $110,000 – $170,000 (target range $120,000 – $150,000)
  • Performance Bonus: 10–20% based on project support and successful outcomes
  • Benefits: Competitive package including health, PTO, and travel support

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Engineering firms control system design and specification.

Vacuum systems are often misunderstood or misapplied.
